The situation warranted III

It was not really bad luck always a double! It is triple or doubles double; at least it applies to me. My eyes need eyes specialist and my teeth need specialist care.  So far I was and I am best taking care of by the public hospital eyes specialist. The dentist, the public dental clinic, is they caring the aged and un-affordable? I am wondering? The first I had encounter, it is the public university dental specialist of public Hospital. The second, it is the dental clinic of public clinic.

My upper teeth, I have seven teeth.  My lower teeth five teeth with one false tooth attached to the shaking nature tooth.  I was told three of the nature teeth and the false tooth needed to take off to give way for full detachable full sets of false teeth.  The cost is manageable. The planting of false teeth, it was costing at RM 1000.00 by the public university dental specialist, naturally I could not afford and the dental student who was treating me, she was caring and she fought for my behalf to waive the RM1000.00 but at no avail. I was asked by the Lecturer or professor or someone who was the senior not to go back the public university dental specialist again. 

Is it really caring being the first priority in the medicine community? Or, medicine is for the rich and young? May be and I am wondering?  Does the young needed to have denture?  Oh! Yes, it is not medicine, it is dental, be it aged and not well off, you need not to have teeth to enjoy food, and after all you are going to “Goal” or “KO”!!  May be this is their doctrine of situation warranted, who knows I don’t know. May be this is not happening in the country I am living, may be other countries are practicing as well. After all it is the doctrine of situation warranted alien to the aged and un-affordable!

The dental clinic of public clinic, there is signboard displaced at the noticeable place and in such a way no one is able to miss them.   It is clearly stated all charges, the full denture and partial, the charges are really indicating the true caring for not only aged and they are for general public. A number ticket machine attached with clear massages, the aged and handicap are first priority for the dentist to attend to, it is so touching, and I was nearly tears drop. It looks like I have stepping into a dental clinic with whole heart and true caring.

I was so happy I got what I wanted the first visit in Mar 2008, thereafter followed up by appointments for the partial denture fixing.  There were a few of my lower teeth were shaking, I was advice to pull them off before for the full removable denture.  My argument was, they were still serving for the purpose of biting chicken bones and grinding groundnuts, many hard shells nuts and many more of the harder nature of foods.  The removable denture would not do so. I would happily to allow all my loosing teeth to pull away if they could provide the planting of denture but they were not providing such services.

The female dentist was so caring and understanding, giving me the partial lower removable denture. Thereafter a few months,  one of my shaking teeth gone and she repaired my partial removable denture by adding one tooth.  The repairing only required one working day, it is to say, and the next day I have my repaired denture back to my mouth. Thereafter another tooth was gone and repaired and another was gone and repaired.

Now, today 18 December 2011 I am still having three shaking teeth. And one good tooth of my lower teeth serving their purpose for the biting, cutting and grinding all the hard shells and harder food and I am enjoying.  Should there be pull off, I won’t be able to enjoy since 2008 and many more years ahead. My loosen teeth; they are definitely not comparable to my good teeth.  I do believe they are not comparable to any planted teeth either but it is proven they are better than my removable dentures.

I wonder, why the dentists of the dental clinic of public clinic refused to allow me to have my full set of removable denture fixed before all my loosen teeth to be taken off? Is it the doctrine of situation warranted suggests that all the loosen teeth must be taken off? Or, is it the rule of the book indicated? Or is it some other agenda required them to do so? It does give me some discomfort or slight pain at times due to the attack of the teeth born bacteria or virus but then it is only one or two days and back to normal and enjoy my favorite foods for the next few weeks.  It is repeating and repeating but I am enjoying!!  Don’t they know once they are taken off, it is gone forever?

Don’t they know, it is not much of the years ahead we are having?  Don’t they know when we are aged, there are not many things we can afford to enjoy especially we are not well off? Furthermore there are not many good and tasty foods left for us as many aged sickness prohibited many tasty food.  Yet these dentists of the dental clinic of public clinic, they are having such a heart of taking away the remaining few of tasty foods from us.

I was happy and thankful to the first dentist gave me the partial lower denture fixed but when my loosen teeth came off one by one, lower or upper.  Beginning of this year, 2011 most of my loosen teeth are gone except there are still three of them on my lower teeth plus one good tooth at the far end alone serving no biting purpose. All my upper teeth are good but they are only seven remaining.

I do believe I needed a full set of denture fixed, by then a much more better bites, cut and grinding and much more foods enjoyment I could have. However, my dreams are taken away by their doctrine of situation warranted:-

You get aged you be gone, it is not their business for you to enjoy. Loosen teeth stay; denture is not there for you. Caring for the aged society, it is only slogan. Caring only good for those, young and affordable!

The situation warranted II

The one nice day I was attacked by spiral stenosis, it was sometime in latter months of the year 2005. It was not possible for me to go for private clinics or worst still the private specialist or hospital as my business was not well performed but only surviving. It was not possible for me to go for public hospital orthopedic specialist without a reference letter from the public clinics.

It was under doctrine of situation warranted of their own, I was not given any later of reference. I was given only pain killer. The pain killer pills of the quality I was given, I was told to consume when necessary.  They are capable of damaging my other internal organs. Finally I was given letter of reference at the beginning of year 2006. It was submitted to the public hospital orthopedic specialist and I was getting an appointment on 3 of April 2006.

It was under whose doctrine of situation warranted, I wonder? Does it mean aged is entitled for electric shocking pain suffering? Or does it mean aged and less well off only suffer? Does it really mean there is doctrine of situation warranted for aged and not well off needed to have sufferings? Oh! I am really wondering?

It is a saying, bad luck always a double. It was not enough to suffer the spiral stenosis, the electric shocking pain. It was follow by another attack, I was suffering gastro disorder and I am still suffering and under treatment.  I was given a big name of medical term that I cannot remember.  It was the result of my first gastro scope.  They confirmed I had stomach ulcers and duodenum illness that could develop into cancer. 

Again I needed letter of reference from the public clinic for the appointment of the public hospital gastro specialist. I was complaining to the public clinic of my constantly stomach upset for the last few years and the complaints was made known in beginning of the year 2006.  Complaints also included passing motions with black color discharges and pain in upper abdomen.

Once again, the doctrine of situation warranted was not applied to the well being of me.  Do I really so bad in my luck that I do not have the privileges of being aged and be helped? However this time it was different I have met an Angel Female doctor who was treating my spiral stenosis.  She took heed of my complaints and disregarded others by issued letter of reference even she was not supposed to do so and possibly facing discipline action by the authority of the public hospital.  She was the only one who really took the doctrine of situation warranted by heart so long in my case and it was. She is an orthopedic specialist not a general practice.

Assisted by the Angel, my appointment with the gastro specialist was fixed on 08 June 2006. It was confirmed prima facie I had a gastro case and the first gastro scope was fixed on that day for 12 July 2006.  The scope confirmed I had stomach ulcers and duodenum illness that could develop into cancer.  Treatment I was received by drugs taking. The first dose course of one month medicine from 08 June 2006 to 12 July 2006, the medicine failed as the scope shown the seriousness of the gastro disorders. The second dose course, the medicine changed to Ranitidine tablets and I was told the Ranitidine tablets was stronger than the first doze course.

The second scope done on 01 Nov 2006, it was having no improvement and medicine changed again and I was told it was the strongest. It was Prazole group.  The third scope, it was done on 17 Jan 2007, no improvement and taking the Prazole group of different brand and manufacturers. The forth scope on 06 May 2008, no improvement and gas in stomach was visible, Prazole medicine continuing. The fifth scope was done on 05 Jan 2010, improvement was concluded and I was told no ulcers were visible but my complaints persistent especially early in the morning, continuing taking Prazole tablets.

Routine gastro appointments in between scopes, it was somewhere after the fifth scope, memory not very well as it did not reflected in my record (my appointment cards details).  I was given a change of medicine from Prazole to Ranitidine tablets for three months as my fifth scope was done on 05 Jan 2010, it indicated improvement with no ulcers visible. Thereafter the sixth scope was done on 16 March 2011. The ulcers coming back and I was asked why it could happen as it was no ulcers visible in the fifth scope.  The only reason I could provide, it was the change of medicine and I was not taking heed of my complaints. The Prazole was given again. 

The doctrine of situation warranted was not in favor for me again when I was attaining my routine appointment of the gastro specialist right after my sixth scope in 16 March 2011.  I was told by the specialist on that appointment that I need not to have any treatment further and ready for discharge. It confused me by the facts, I was scope for no ulcers visible and medicine changed, thereafter scoped again and ulcers visible and yet I was told I was ready for discharge. Why such a doctrine of situation warranted being applied to me all the time? Is it my aged life truly does not have any value at all? Why must I facing such a doctrine of situation warranted? Oh!  What could I do? I have nothing to say but utter the words of I am truly wondering?

The situation warranted I

The doctrine of situation warranted, it is to say, decision is made at the place based on the situation of the time and the conditions at that time.  It needs not to follow the rules and by the book, so long as the conditions at that time is warranted. However care is needed for the rights of living things and life forms.

Being a child, the feelings, the way of thinking and the ways of response, I must say, it is totally forgotten.  Being teenager, it was joyful, it was wonderful and it was truly beautiful. It was the feelings of some teenagers who had a wonderful family. It did not mater the family was rich or poor.  It is the value of family love, love from parents, love from brothers and sisters and love from immediate relatives, uncles and aunts. There are poor teenagers, who have no feelings, feelings of being loved and cared, they unluckily have irresponsible parents or guardians, though it does not have official statistic but I do believe the ration is minimum, I am truly hoping so!

Being youthful, who cares the world is trembling down; the sun is shatter into pieces. I like it I take it, junk food or good food, sex, no problems, sexual diseases or no diseases.  Enjoyment is my life, so long it does not hurting others.  There are others, own self is on top of all.  Hurting or no hurting, it is none of their concern, luckily this group of youths, it is minimum in our society. I am truly hoping so!

Being middle age, passing through half of the human life, they have picked up, all feelings, bad or good, the experiences, intentionally or uncalled for along their way of their life.  They are still manageable; they are still having the tip top health condition.  They are capable of doing as what they are pleased to do.  It is young enough to feel the no pinch of body decaying.

Aged, it is the subject; it is something, the child, the teenager, the youth and the middle-aged needed to imagine. What will it become when they are stepping into it?  Allow me to give you some aspects of it.

Aspect number one, it is the only one will make you feel like to stop growing, if you can! It is the situation warranted aspect or the doctrine of situation warranted being overruled. It is a true story of me for the past few years.  It is the aspect number one applying all the time. Aspect number two, three or four and so on, they keep on asking you to refer to aspect number one.

I was fifty seven turn fifty eight, happy go lucky, my small business though it was not perform well but surviving.  Having a capable wife in assisting me in the business, she gave me a wonderful daughter who always scored full marks of her studies, gaining many scholarships and prizes which lessen my financial commitment. 

It was one nice day; I was attacked by spiral stenosis.  I have suffered tremendous pain; it was like an electric shock right from my buttock down to my leg.  I had no way to withstand the shocking pain but to squat down or sit down. It was just a beginning of my life out from my health and receiving treatments from others.

The business is naturally not able to sustain its normal operation but scaled down for home operation of clothing alteration by my wife.  All machineries were sold except one or two for alteration. Stocks are partly sold and the rest kept at home as they are considered as no marketable value. Throwing is truly a waste.  It is something like, you like it, it cost you a fortune otherwise they are worthless not even a cent. Debts owed to others, they are fully paid or else I will be sued.  Debts owed to me, no way to collect, I can’t afford the legal entangle. I have to use wisely my savings for the unknown in times to come.

Seeking financial assistance from the so called social insurance by claiming under non-performing due to key man was suffered electric shocking pain and unable to walk for more 30 minutes or at times less than 10 minutes. Normal mail Letter of claims sent, it was mo response, registered letter of claim sent but the mail was sent and dropped into the ocean. I was lucky, after three years over of drugs treatment without surgical operation; improvement is achieved but not fully recovered.

My situation of suffer pain of electric shock and unable to conduct business, it was to do marketing; I needed to walk quite a distance. It was to do job by long hours of standing in the workshop to do the cutting. It was because of the incapability, I had to scale down the operation by only doing the alteration at home by my wife. As for me, I could only do some household jobs and blogging.  Now that I have some improvement, assisting my wife to do the edging and simple sewing, I could do it only a few minutes and rest for a while or else the electric shock of pain is coming back.

Does it mean it was the situation warranted that I was not entitled to receive the benefits of social insurance? I wonder what the situations at that time were. I was not entitled of such a claim until now? I am sixty five years old, I am truly aged now.  Still no reply no answers, being aged; it is the treatment we are receiving?  I am truly wondering? Am I complaining? No I am not, it is my plights, it is my feelings these few days and they are stuck in my brain and echoing all the time.  Digging them out to the open, it wills definitely lessening the pressure in my skull.
